Meet Mark Titus, the record setter for most wins in a 4-year stretch than any other Ohio State basketball player in history…
In 2006, Mark Titus arrived on Ohio State’s campus as a former high school basketball player who aspired to be an orthopedic surgeon. Somehow, he was added to the elite Buckeye basketball team, given a scholarship, and ended up playing alongside seven future NBA players on his way to setting the most individual career wins for a 4-year player in Ohio State history. In those four years, he scored a grand total of nine–yes, nine–points.
In those four years at the end of the bench, Mark founded his wildly popular blog Club Trillion (and has since graduated to writing for Bill Simmons’ (!!!) blog GRANTLAND, became a hero to all guys picked last, and even got scouted by the Harlem Globetrotters because he does, well this:
Even though Don’t Put Me In Coach doesn’t come out until March, 6, 2012 (in the prime of March Madness fever!), you can enjoy some hilarious quotes below and pre-order the book at these fine, basketball friendly retailers:
“You want me to give you a quote? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. You’ve been riding my coattails for years, so of course you want to put my name on your book to sell more copies.”
-Evan “The Villain” Turner (#2 overall pick in 2010 NBA draft by Philadelphia 76ers; 2010 college basketball National Player of The Year)
“Mark Titus knows a lot of personal secrets of mine. If he revealed any of them in this book, I will kick him right in the… I’m not joking.”
-Greg Oden (#1 overall pick in 2007 NBA Draft by Portland Trailblazers, and 2007 1st Team All-American at Ohio State)
“Of all the players I’ve coached in my career, Mark Titus is one of them.”
-Thad Matta (head basketball coach at Ohio State)

Thad Matta’s quote is by far the best. I can’t wait to see what else is in the book. If its half as good as his blog, I might just read the whole thing
As a fellow Buckeye and Club Tril fan, I can tell you that I’m looking forward to reading this book. If only Valentine’s Day was March 6th, I wouldn’t have to spend my own money to buy it.
